Bird Walk
This walk will be led by Stan Gray. Click here to learn more about Stan.

October 10th and 19th
We will meet at 9:00 AM on each of the two mornings at Sparrow Field on Bartram Road. There appears to be ample off-road parking, but participants are encouraged to bring a golf cart or arrange a drop-off. Having several golf carts will give us the most flexibility.
The walk will last approximately two hours, although participants may leave at any time. We’ll begin at Sparrow Field and gradually make our way by foot or golf cart along the Bartram Road sidewalk toward Bartram Lagoon. Stan will be available to continue birding with anyone who wishes to stay longer.
The goal is not to create a long list of birds, but to practice using binoculars and applying the seven factors of bird identification discussed in the talk. This walk is especially suited to those new to birding or who may feel intimidated by a traditional bird walk. We’ll take plenty of time to locate birds and discuss their key identifying features, so we may not reach the lagoon if there are enough learning opportunities along the way.
The only requirement is a pair of binoculars. Depending on your comfort level being outdoors for several hours in October, you may also want to bring water, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a hat.
